The "Injured"

 More conventional or traditional workouts are weight bearing and tend to build short, bulky muscles - the type most prone to injury. Pilates elongates and strengthens, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility, making it less prone to be injured. Many of the exercises are performed in reclining or sitting positions, and most are low impact and partially weight bearing. Pilates is so safe, it is used in physical therapy facilities to rehabilitate injuries. Get the workout that best suits you now, and increase the intensity as your body conditioning improves. 

We recommend doing an evaluation for all of our incoming injured clientele. We want to hear your history, your diagnosis, your limitations, etc. in order to ensure that we provide you with an effective session. We have options for Private classes:

 

o Introductory to Pilates: includes 3 private sessions where we will work one-on-one with you to learn your body's needs and to teach you how to perform the exercises effectively. This package is designed for the individual who wants to continue in group classes. Cost: $250 for 3 private sessions and 2 group classes

 

o One-on-One sessions are best for people who are not yet ready to move into a faster-paced group class.

Cost: Ranges from $68/hour to $75/hour. $75 per single session, $70 per session for package of 5. $68/hr for package of 10.

 

o Group Classes recommended for injured clientele are  Level 1-2 Reformer classes found on the schedule. If class times needed are not provided on the schedule, please contact the studio as classes can often be added and changed if needed.

Pilates for Me

The Athlete

Pilates exercises develop a strong "core," or center of the body. The core consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Control of the core is achieved by integrating the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle. Pilates conditions the whole body, even the ankles and feet, and even improves sports performance. No muscle group is over trained or under trained. Your entire musculature is evenly balanced and conditioned, helping you enjoy daily activities and sports with greater ease, better performance and less chance of injury.

The Mom

 

We have options for Private classes and Group Classes:

 

o Student Pilates- designated classes for student athletes

o Introductory to Pilates: includes 3 private sessions where we will work one-on-one with you to learn your body needs and to teach you how to perform the exercises effectively. This package is designed for the individual who wants to continue in group classes. Cost: $250 for 3 private sessions and 2 group classes

 

o One-on-One sessions are best for people who are seeking individual attention to their exercise needs and for those who want to quickly progress in the Pilates system of exercises.

Cost: Ranges from $68/hour to $75/hour. $75 per single session, $70 per session for package of 5 and $68 per session for a package of 10.

 

o Group Classes recommended for our athletes and experienced Pilates lovers are Level 1-2, Level 2-3, Pilates Chair and Cardio Jumpboard classes. If class times needed are not provided on the schedule, please contact the studio as classes can often be added and changed with participant interest.

Cost: Monthly membership- $200 consists of 10 classes that can be used over a month time period. If you do not feel that you will attend up to 10 classes per month, we offer a 10-class package for group classes $250 for use over a 3-month period.

The female body reacts differently during and after pregnancy. Pilates allows for personalized exercises to target specific areas of the body as well as to keep mom safe and healthy during all of the parts of the pregnancy.

The Worker Bee

Creating muscle mass is one of the best ways to increase your calorie-burning potential. Pilates can help you accomplish that because Pilates exercises are strength training. The movements are done with resistance to increase strength and hence, muscle mass. Using springs and different apparatus to increase the load to the muscles, can affect a metabolic increase by building lean muscle mass.
